Are you passionate about creating fun, safe spaces where kids can grow, connect, and explore faith?

Highfields Community Church is launching a brand-new, weekly after-school program for primary school kids (Prep–Year 6). We’re looking for a warm, energetic leader to bring this vision to life—building a vibrant space where local children and families feel known, welcomed, and valued.

This isn’t just a weekly program—it’s an opportunity to pioneer a brand-new outreach, build relationships with local families, and make a lasting impact in the Highfields community.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the Fun: Coordinate and run high-energy Friday afternoon sessions featuring games, crafts, engaging Bible lessons, and mentoring.

  • Build Relationships: Welcome parents at drop-off and pick-up, serving as a friendly bridge between local families and the wider church community.

  • Empower the Team: Guide, mentor, and roster a passionate group of volunteers to deliver safe, unforgettable experiences for the kids.

  • Design & Plan: Use your flexible hours to prep lessons, coordinate logistics, and shape the direction of the club.

What We’re Looking For

  • A Heart for Kids & Community: You love working with primary school children and share our Christian values and passion for outreach.

  • An Engaging Leader: You know how to command a room full of energetic kids with warmth, positivity, and clear boundaries.

  • A Natural Connection-Maker: You’re approachable, organised, and genuinely enjoy building rapport with parents, volunteers, and leaders.

  • Community Alignment: A willingness to pop into a Sunday service once a month to stay connected with the broader Highfields Church family.

Getting Ready to Start

(Don't let these hold you back from applying! The following will simply need to be completed prior to your start date):

  • Active Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card).

  • Current First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to starting).

  • Completion of a standard National Police Check and church Child Safe training modules.
