It is wonderful to welcome you to term 3 (if you still have kids in school) for the others ...welcome to July! It has been a while since we ran out of wood for our fireplace at home and I keep telling Angelic “The winter is almost over” I’m not going to buy a load of wood now let’s wait till next year. I must admit that I was wrong …very wrong (again) - The winter is still here and apparently as per local expert advice it will stay with us a little longer. Thinking about these two words “Let’s Wait” I realize how different things in our lives could have been if we waited or if we didn’t wait at all; we sometimes rush into stuff without thinking or without praying and then we are disappointed when the result is not good. Or we wait and wait and wait and never move and then mis out on an opportunity or we experience hardship because we haven’t acted soon enough. “Is anything harder than waiting on God? How many times have we prayed for the same things repeatedly, only to learn that God’s answer appears to be a “no” or “not yet”? In the midst of waiting, we are often tempted to become impatient and frustrated with God, and perhaps even worse, we are tempted to play God”. (Eric Watkins) The other morning Ted and elderly gentleman in our congregations shared with me some wisdom he said “Marius I have discovered that God does things in His time and not our time, I have seen it in my life and I am grateful” We find similar words in Psalms 37:7 “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”
